After passage of four days, USZ Embassy in Pakistan and Capital Toyota Motors located in Industrial Area, are yet to provide proofs of registration documents and submit their reply for fixing fake number plates on two vehicles. Sources in the police said that neither USZ Embassy nor Toyota Capital Motors had provided the documents of the two vehicles pounded by Tarnol police on Thursday. The vehicles were being transported to Peshawar with fake number plates. Despite frequent attempts, Athar Aziz Khan, Deputy Manager Toyota Capital Motors did not pick his cell phone.

When sources contacted DSP Malik Tahir, he confirmed that the two USZ Embassy vehicles were impounded by Tarnol police. Police contacted Toyota Capital Motors, however they could not provide any document or court order in this regard. The Toyota Capital Motors is required to prove the reason for fixing the fake number plates, if not fixed by the USZ Embassy, he added. He further said while replying to a question that the court would award punishment for the crime of fixing fake number plates. He also said that the police has completed its investigation report despite the unavailability of the proofs of registration of the two crime vehicles. It is important to note that these are simple day-to-day tasks at Capital Toyota Motors which sells a large number of cars every year and this much delay in such a simple routine task which is linked to such a volatile matter, raises many questions about the Capital Toyota Motors itself since this is not the first time that Toyota vehicles used by criminals have been seized with fake number plates.
